How do you decide what's important and what's not?

"The most exciting phrase to hear, the one that heralds new discoveries, is not Eureka! but, That's funny..."  - Isaac Asimov

Drawing inspiration from the world famous Ig Nobel Awards which are awarded to the most wacky researches and innovations in any imaginable field that “ first make people laugh, and then make them think” , Wit – O – Wiz aims to provide a platform for unusual and imaginative works in two categories , namely :

  1. Discoveries about human psychology
  2. Innovative ways of using waste

Examples

  • Exploring the seemingly boundless appetites of human beings, by feeding them with a self-refilling, bottomless bowl of soup.
  • A study that people find a way to postpone their deaths if that would qualify them for a lower rate on the inheritance tax.
  • A study of suicide statistics to find, Monday is the favored day for self-destruction.

The topics are weird, but what makes them distinct is the reasoning.

If you can think differently and come up with something ingenious and wacky and at the same time appreciable, then this is the event for you!

We aim to celebrate the unusual, and honour the imaginative!!
