Get ready to summon all your skills for these events.Encompassing the no-holds-barred Quark Open Showcase Event, Matka, Paper Presentation and School Bag, the Specials are a perfect blend of thrill, adventure, hobby, innovation, imagination and a tempting bouquet of prizes in a ‘special’ way forming the highlight of the festival.
 

Open Showcase

Just two decades ago, no one could have ever imagined that we would be working on tablet-sized computers or making missile loaded unmanned airplanes that are controlled from remotes situated thousands of miles far away.

It is said that necessity is the mother of invention.  Yet, if we sit back and ponder upon the reason for such a huge transformation, there’s certainly something more to necessity. We could have been content with a telegraph that made communication possible. In that case, how would one explain the existence of over thousands of varieties of mobile phones and other gadgets these days. Ever tried to think why did the Wright brothers endeavor to conquer the air when land transport was enough to quench the need of transportation?

The answer lies in the human brain itself. It is the special quality attached to the human behaviour, which is responsible to bring about such a drastic change. This quality is “innovation “. It is because of this trait that we are able to think out of the box, that we are in a more comfortable and advanced era than our ancestors.

So here is an event which will shake your innovative minds and offer you a platform i.e. The Open Showcase to exhibit your ideas and skills in the genius of project, based on your disciplines or even a blend of them.

Quark 2012 gives students a platform to present their research work and projects through this event. Participants are encouraged to formulate ideas for new technologies, suggest innovative solutions to real world challenges and stay abreast with the latest in the fields of science and technology. The event allows them to showcase their papers and serves as a platform for some of the brightest minds in the country to exchange new ideas and cutting edge research. Paper Presentation, one of the biggest events in Quark is now waiting for your talent.

School Bag

School Bag is a mixed bag of events designed for the participation of students of Secondary (8-10 classes) and Higher Secondary Schools. Spread over two days, it has events ranging from education, to arts and fun. The aim of this event is none other than to provide an opportunity for the Secondary and Higher Secondary students to visit and explore the campus, view various well designed and innovative models/projects (working and/or nonworking) in different fields of Science and Engineering.

The second day comprises of events devoted to underprivileged children.

DOTA

DOTA - Defense of the Ancients

Game Version    :     v6.72f or the latest Stable Map available at the time of the tournament that the organizers deem fit.

FIFA

The Fifa countdown begins. The Ultimate tourney at matka 2012 featuring Fifa  '11, begins on 3rd Feb.

   Welcome to the world of CS where mercy is a sin, where winning is the only answer to be fed to your enemies. This game requires instincts at a very high level where u can prove yourself a player. The tournament goes on for 3 days and 3 nights continuously with registrations possible at any day, any time.
